Blues Announce 10 Returning Players to Bristol for 2024

BRISTOL - The Bristol Blues announced today, February 21st, that 10 players from the 2023 roster will be making their returns to Bristol for the upcoming season.

 

These 10 returners include catcher Billy Sullivan, first baseman Gavin Noriega, utility player Skye Selinsky, first baseman/third baseman Cal Parrillo, second baseman and pitcher Jordan Payton, and pitchers Chad Fedeli, Landon White, Jaden Wywoda, Jack Bowery, and Justin Solimine. 

 

Sullivan, a catcher, hit .282 with seven doubles and 12 RBIs in Bristol last season. He was named as a reserve to the 2023 NECBL Western all-star team. The Valley Cottage, New York native is currently playing for Southern Connecticut State University, where he is hitting .308 in four games for the Owls’. 

 

Noriega, a first baseman and outfielder, hit .319 for the Blues last year, clubbing three home runs and driving in 33 runs. He was the starter at first base for the NECBL Western all-star team last season. The Bronx, New York native is currently playing for Bryant University, where he hit two home runs in the Bulldogs’ loss to the University of Central Florida. 

 

Selinsky, a utility player, hit .278 last season in Bristol, including four doubles. The Aliso Viejo native is currently playing for Columbia University, where the Lions’ kick off their season on Friday against the University of Florida. 

 

Parrillo, a corner infielder, hit .261 in 88 at bats last season, with 23 hits and 19 runs batted in. The Johnston, Rhode Island native transferred to Stony Brook University in the fall, leaving Rhode Island College. Parrillo did not record a hit in the Seawolves’ first game.

 

Peyton, a second baseman and right handed pitcher, hit .314 for the Blues last season, recording 27 hits and 18 runs scored. He was named as a reserve to the 2023 NECBL Western all-star team at second base last season. The Colonial Beach, Virginia native is a two-way player at Towson University, hitting .400 in the Tigers’ first four games while recording two strikeouts in his lone inning on the mound. 

 

Fedeli, a right handed pitcher, appeared in two and two/thirds innings of work last season, striking out five batters. The Monroe, Connecticut native is a two-way player for Southern Connecticut State University, recording 14 at bats in in the Owls’ first four games and has yet to record an appearance on the mound. 

 

White, a right handed pitcher, appeared in two innings for the club last season, recording one strikeout. The Wallingford, Connecticut native transferred to Bryant University from Ithaca College for his second year of collegiate baseball. 

 

Wywoda, a right handed pitcher, appeared in 26 and a third innings for the Blues last season, recording an ERA of 1.57 and a WHIP of 1.13. The Milford, Connecticut native currently plays for the College of the Holy Cross, where he recorded one earned run in four innings of work for the Crusaders’ game last week against the University of William and Mary. 

 

Bowery, a left handed pitcher, appeared in 10 and a third innings for Bristol, recording 12 strikeouts. The North Haven, Connecticut native transferred to Northeastern University from Marist University in the fall, and has appeared in one game for the Huskies, recording four strikeouts in his two and two thirds innings of work in the teams’ loss to the University of Arizona last week. 

 

Solimine, a right handed pitcher, appeared in 23 and two thirds innings last season for the Blues, recording an ERA of 1.52 and a WHIP of .845. He was selected as a reserve for the 2023 NECBL Western all-star team but was later replaced. The Danbury, Connecticut native currently pitches for Manhattan University, where he recorded the loss in his five innings of work in the Jaspers’ loss to the University of Alabama last week.
