Noriega Named America East Player of the Week For April 1-8
The America East conference announced today that Blues’ player and current Bryant Bulldog Gavin Noriega was named player of the week for the week of April 1st.
The Bryant senior went 7-14 (.500 batting average) with two doubles and two home runs in the Bulldogs’ sweep over UAlbany and victory over Brown.
Noriega went 2-4 in an 11-1 win over the Great Danes with a pair of home runs and a walk, recording four RBIs. He also stole a base in the victory.
This is the first Player of the Week honor for Noriega, who has had a stellar year for the Bulldogs in his first year at Bryant since transferring from Marist in the fall.
Noriega leads his team in nearly every offensive stat, including at-bats (106), hits (36), home runs (10), RBI’s (28) batting average (.340), and on-base percentage (.482) among others.
With Noriega’s dominance, Bryant sits atop the America East standings with an 8-1 record in league play and a 19-10 overall record on the season.
