Opening Day on 3/1 is less than 1 week away, so please mark your calendars for what will be a memorable day at the ballpark.  

 

This year, Bayshore Little League is joining together once again to face a relentless opponent - childhood cancers.  Recognizing that sports are so much more than wins and losses, many of us at BSLL are united in our effort to help Strike Out Cancer.  Opening Day is going to be filled with baseball and softball games, so in the spirit of trying to Strike Out Cancer, I am asking all of our Bayshore families to consider making a small donation (ALL proceeds donated to the Children's Cancer Center in Tampa) for every strike out recorded during the games on Opening Day. Even 10 cents per strike out can make a difference if everyone participates!  So, please come to Opening Day wearing YELLOW or GOLD to help raise awareness of childhood cancer and help support so many young children battling a relentless opponent. 

 

The agenda for Opening Day is presented below.

 

Opening Day – Majors Field (arrive at 8:30 am)

Please arrive on time to get with your team and line up for the ceremony. The Plant High School Drum Line will be playing on the field prior to and during the ceremony. 

 

Events on Majors Field - 9am – 11am

• Parade of Teams - Ceremony begins with the Introduction and Parade of all teams
• Honoring our Champions – including the 2013 World Champion Junior Girls Softball Team!
• Champions Challenge – this is a fun skills challenge among Majors Baseball & Softball players, where you will see some monster HRs, amazing throws, and blazing speed. Folks are still talking about the home run derby display last year!

 

Other Opening Day Events at BSLL for all ages:

• We will have plenty of fun activities for the kids and entertainers!
• We will have a DJ cranking out the tunes!
• Great food from Eats!
• We will have a table set up to learn more about Pediatric Cancer Research and hear about additional support and sponsorship opportunities
• We will have a table setup where you can:
  • See our field expansion plans
  • Buy a chance to win in our 50/50 raffle. 1 for $5 or 3 for $10.  Picking winning number before 1st pitch!
  • Get a family commemorative brick
  • Find out about our new Majors/10 year old buddy program

Games begin at 11:00 am.

 

So please join us for this special day on 3/1, as we join together to Strike Out Cancer while enjoying the music, great food provided by EATS and a ton of entertainment such as magicians, face painters, and balloon makers for the younger children.
