ECU Falls to D2 NC State
On Friday, September 27th the Pirates headed up to Raleigh to take on the Icepack of NC State. It was the home opener for NCSU, whom last year had a great season that lead to a trip to D2 Nationals. In a game fueled by ECU penalties, the Icepack controlled the play for most of the game and was able to generate lots of offense, especially while on the power play. ECU goalie Graham Emmett played lights out, but it wasn't enough as the Pirates fell to NCSU by a score of 10-2. Special congrats to ECU players Justin Hess and Ben Kellman on recording their first collegiate goals for the Pirates. The Pirates are now looking ahead to their first league game, which happens to be their home opener, this Saturday at 5:45 at the Carolina Ice Zone against High Point University.
