Player of the Game Awards
Pirate Hockey returned home from Va. and battled Old Dominion University at home over the weekend. ECU came out on top in the double header matchup where they etched two in win column advancing them to a league record of 9-2-1 and an overall record of 10-4-2. Outstanding performances were plentiful throughout the bouts but two Pirates showed up to earn their pay and then some. We give you our players of the weekend.
From Pirate Hockey Defense: Freshman, #22-Chris DePerno and #23-Danny Mullenex!
Chris DePerno put on a spectacle of canon blasts from the point netting himself 1 goal and 2 assists in Friday nights rout. Duper's physical play and hockey IQ were an absolute asset from this absolute unit.
Danny Mullenex came out flying in only his 4th game with Pirate Hockey on Saturday. Quickly proving he belongs on the roster, Danny sniped the first goal of his collegiate career in true merc fasion. Wasting no time, geting straight to work and earning his pay.
Each player was awarded the mercenary helmet and title "Battle Captain" for their efforts.
Congratulations #22, Keep the barrage coming!
Congratulations #23, Keep sniping and cashing in!
