ESCHL Announces Details For 2022-23 Playoffs

SYRACUSE, NY – The Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League has announced the details for the 2023 ESCHL Conference Tournament. The 6 team playoff will begin on Friday, March 3rd with the number 3 seed taking on the number 6 seed. Later that evening number 4 will face-off against number 5. The top 2 teams in the conference will get a bye from Friday’s action. The ESCHL semi-finals will take place the following day on Saturday, March 4th. The ESCHL Championship game will be held on Sunday, March 5th.

 

The 3 day tournament will be held at the Revolution Ice Center in Scranton, PA - the home of Kings College Hockey (NCAA Div. III) and the University of Scranton Hockey (ACHA Div. II). Single game tickets for the ESCHL playoffs can be purchased at the door for $10. Additionally, all playoff games will be streamed through Delaware Hockey Night on YouTube Live.

Friday, March 3rd  

#3 vs. #6 | 4:00PM

#4 vs. #5 | 7:00PM

 

Saturday, March 4th  

#2 vs. Highest remaining seed | 4:00PM

#1 vs. Lowest remaining seed | 7:00PM

 

Sunday, March 5th

ESCHL Championship Game | 12:00PM

 

Stony Brook University will look to defend their title as ESCHL Champions. Last season they won both the regular season and the conference tournament - defeating the University of Delaware in last year’s ESCHL Championship game by the score of 4-2. This season the ESCHL regular season champion will earn one of the eight auto-bids to the 2023 ACHA Nationals held in Marlborough, MA March 16th-21st. 

 

Two teams have already clinched their spots in the ESCHL Conference Playoffs. The University of Pittsburgh was the first team to clinch and currently sit at the top of the standings with 19 points. Niagara University clinched their spot after sweeping Syracuse this past weekend. Each of the four remaining spots are still up for grabs. Check out the current ESCHL standings here.
