The Galion Graders make the most of 5 hits in 5-3 victory over the Irish Hills Leprechauns

Both the Galion Graders (5-19) and the Irish Hills Leprechauns (9-14) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the Galion Graders that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-3 win at Sienna Heights University.

Matt Carpenter led the Galion Graders' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He tripled in the fifth inning.

Brandon Phelps brought the heat against the Galion Graders during his outing. Phelps gave up just three hits, allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out two during his six innings of work.

AJ Cecil got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over two innings. Cecil struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Nic Laio couldn't get it done on the mound for the Irish Hills Leprechauns, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
