Early lead not enough for the Licking County Settlers, drop 5-2 decision to the S Ohio Copperheads

The Licking County Settlers (14-12) built an early edge on Saturday, but the S Ohio Copperheads (13-12) roared back to steal a 5-2 victory.

The S Ohio Copperheads took the lead in the seventh inning on an error.

Lee Solomon racked up two RBIs on two hits for the S Ohio Copperheads. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Jesse Anderson baffled the Licking County Settlers, striking out five batters. Anderson allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk over six innings.

Luke Hansen improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the S Ohio Copperheads. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Bryan Cruse couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Licking County Settlers, taking a loss. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
