The Licking County Settlers (22-18) jumped out to an early lead on the Xenia Scouts (26-14) and captured a 9-2 victory on Saturday at Don Edwards Stadium.

With five runs in the first three innings, the Licking County Settlers left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A sacrifice fly by Kyle Hubbuch and an RBI double by Hunter Nance during the first inning and an RBI single by Nick Vaage and a two-run single by Robert Emery in the second inning helped the Licking County Settlers put some runs on the board early.

Emery racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Licking County Settlers.

Cody Maw improved to 5-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Licking County Settlers. He allowed two runs over six innings. Maw struck out two, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Caleb Fernholz (2-4) took the loss for the Xenia Scouts. He allowed nine runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out four.
