OHIO BISON @ HAMILTON JOES
FOUNDATION FIELD - The Hamilton Joes put a beat down on the first place Ohio Bison with a 16-1 victory in seven innings at Foundation Field.
The Joes (8-6) used a well balanced attack with eight batters combining for 11 hits, all of which were singles.
Brayden Broome (Samford) went 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs powering the Joes offensive attack.
Bryce Smith (Northern Kentucky) provided his second stellar pitching performance of the week throwing six innings, giving up just one run and three hits.
Despite the loss, The Bison (10-3) remain two and a half games ahead of both the Joes and the Cincinnati Steam in the South Division standings.
RICHMOND JAZZ @ OHIO MARLINS
McBRIDE STADIUM - The Richmond Jazz spotted the Ohio Marlins a four-run advantage before scoring seven unanswered winning 7-4 at McBride Stadium.
The Marlins (3-10) jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Colin Freeman, who went 3-for-5, hit a sixth inning solo home run helping to provide support for the lead.
The Jazz (8-7) answered with a late inning surge sending the home crowd happy on this Father’s Day afternoon.
K.J. Curry (Wilson College) set the table at the top of the lineup for the Jazz going 4-for-5 with two runs scored.
Ben Huber (Limestone College) was part of the run production faction going 3-for-5 and Holden Fielder (Lynchburg College) driving in 2 RBIs in his Jazz debut.
JET BOX BASEBALL CLUB vs. GRAND LAKE MARINERS
MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL - The Jet Box Baseball Club won its GLSCL-best 11th game with a 4-1 victory over the Grand Lake Mariners in Highland, Michigan.
Nick Arrivo (Eckard College) reaches on a double in the second inning and came around scoring on a single by Nate Brooks (Findlay).
Grand Lake (4-10) tied the game 1-1 in the fifth inning. Donald Stone (Marist) lead off with a single and was driven in scoring on a double off the bat of Brandon Parrott (Lincoln Memorial).
Andre Demetral (Florence-Darlington Tech) hit a solo home run in the sixth retaking the lead for Jet Box.
Arrivo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, produced both insurance runs in the seventh inning. He doubled driving in Caden Penn (Calvin College) and scored on an error.
Jet Box (11-3) benefited from a pair of quality pitching performances.
Jeremy Spezia (Bowling Green State) started and went six innings giving up just one hit on three hits.
Brandon Biggerstaff (Northwood) earned his first save of the season throwing three shutout innings out of the bullpen.
MICHIGAN MONARCHS 10 GALION GRADERS 9 - GAME 1
SIENNA HEIGHTS BASEBALL DIAMOND - The Michigan Monarchs took the first game of a Father’s Day double header winning a back-and-forth 10-9 affair at Sienna Heights University.
Each team traded the lead three times in three consecutive half innings combining for a total 19 runs and 23 hits during the seven-inning game.
Brendan Lowry (Central Michigan) went 4-for-4 with two RBIs scoring two runs for the Monarchs.
Hayden Jatczak (Saginaw Valley State) contributed a 3-for-4 performance scoring three runs.
Luke Tanner (Northwestern) went deep for the Monarchs with a two-run homer in the second inning.
Jay Luikart (Wright State) led the Graders 10-hit offensive attack going 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
Nick Christopher (Bucknell) went 2-for-4 at the plate for Galion driving in 3 RBIs.
MICHIGAN MONARCHS 14 GALION GRADERS 7 - GAME 2
SIENNA HEIGHTS BASEBALL DIAMOND - The Michigan Monarchs completed the double header sweep over the Galion Graders with a 14-7 win in the night cap.
The Monarchs (8-7) boasted five players with a multi-hit games lead by three base knocks for Michael Zinter (Scottsdale CC).
Galion’s (4-10) Jay Luikart (Wright State) laced three more hits, including his third triple of the season, going 6-for-7 in the double header.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1986 playing its first season in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The league currently consists of 14 active franchises in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
