2022 GLSCL schedule released

TROY, Ohio - The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League is excited to announce its schedule for the 2022 season. The season gets started on Tuesday, June 7 with six games on the docket.

 

The GLSCL is fielding 13 teams in 2022 divided into two divisions. Six teams will represent the North Division while seven team compete in the South Division. The 38-game schedule runs through July 24.

Two historic franchises return to the GLSCL in 2022 from sabbatical and will both play in the South Division. The Licking County Settlers and the Southern Ohio Copperheads return to action for the first time since the summer of 2019. 

 

The Settlers and the “Cheads” will be joined in the South as “newcomers” along with the Grand Lake Mariners. The Mariners make the move from the North Division. The Cincinnati Steam, Richmond Jazz, Xenia Scouts and defending GLSCL Champion Hamilton Joes round out the South Division lineup.

 

In the North Division it will be defending division champion Sandusky Bay Ice Haulers and Lima Locos joined by four teams from the state of Michigan. The Royal Oak Leprechauns, Muskegon Clippers, Michigan Monarchs and Jet Box Baseball Club round out the division.

 

This season coming up will be the 35th summer of Great Lake Summer Collegiate League action. The GLSCL is one of the oldest and most established summer baseball leagues in the country drawing support from Major League Baseball.

 

ABOUT THE GREAT LAKES SUMMER COLLEGIATE LEAGUE: 

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The league currently consists of 13 active franchises in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
