RICHMOND JAZZ 13 HAMILTON JOES 9
McBRIDE STADIUM - The Richmond Jazz sweep a two-game home-and-home series with the first place Hamilton Joes winning 13-9 at historic McBide Stadium.
The Jazz churned out 15 hits with six different players producing multi-hit games. All nine batters in the starting lineup for Richmond earned at least one base hit.
The Joes took an early 4-2 advantage with the Jazz came to the plate in the bottom of the second inning. Cade Parker (Gulf Coast State College) smacked a broken bat RBI-single to left field scoring Jojuan Wimbley (Savannah State). Peyton Lane (Northern Kentucky commit) following with a two-RBI triple taking a 5-4 lead.
Parker, who was just announced as the GLSCL Player of the Week, continued his hot hitting going 2-for-4 at the plate.

It was an advantage that Richmond never relinquish. The Jazz put five more runs on the board creating enough separation to pull away from the Joes.
Luke Leverton (Miami University) settled in during the middle innings on mound for the Jazz. Leverton went six innings improving his record to 3-0 on the season.
The Joes shrunk the deficit to within slam range scoring three runs in the eight inning. Nick Wimmers (Nebraska), who went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, drove in a run during the late inning rally with a sacrifice fly.
The race tightened up significantly in the South Division with Joes second straight loss. Hamilton is now 14-11 and the Jazz sit at 13-12. One game now separates the two five teams in the division standings.
XENIA SCOUTS 7 LICKING COUNTY SETTLERS 1
GRADY’S FIELD - The Xenia Scouts bounced back salvaging a spilt of a two-game series defeating the Licking County Settlers 7-1 at Grady’s Field.
Four Xenia pitchers combined to stymie the Licking County offense holding the Settlers to just the one run on only two hits.
Cole Lee (Oklahoma Christian) got the start for the Scouts going five innings earning his first win of the season.
Grayson Munyon (Birmingham Southern) and Patrick Newby (Toledo) combined to bridge the gap in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.
Peyton Niemann (Arkansas Pine Bluff) pitched a scoreless ninth inning slamming the door shut on the Settlers chances of a comeback.
Despite being held to just two hits, the Settlers had chances to produce offense. Scouts pitchers issued seven walks but Licking County could not manufacture much often leaving nine runners on base.
Jeffrey Heard (Cal State Sacramento) went 3-for-5 at the plate with a double and a triple for Xenia. Blaze Bell (UT Martin) and Tommy Rover (Fresno Pacific) each contributed two hits with Rover driving in three RBIs.
The Scouts (13-11) are now in second place just a half game out of first place in the South Division. Licking County is still in the race despite the loss falling to 13-12.
SOUTHERN OHIO COPPERHEADS VS. CINCINNATI STEAM - POSTPONED
BOB WREN STADIUM - The Southern Ohio Copperheads and Cincinnati Steam game was cancelled early in the afternoon due to inclement weather in the Athens, Ohio area. The game will be made up on Thursday, July 14 when both teams had a corresponding off day.
MICHIGAN MONARCHS 4 MUSKEGON CLIPPERS 3
SIENA HEIGHTS UNIVERSITY - The Michigan Monarchs now have the best overall record in the GLSCL after earning a 4-3 victory at home over the Muskegon Clippers.
The Monarchs (15-10) have now won six out of its last seven games and remain one full game in front of both Sandusky Bay and Jet Box in the North Division standings.
Hayden Jatczak (Saginaw Valley State) hit a solo home run in the seventh inning for the Monarchs braking up a 3-3 tie. Jatczak was 2-for-3 on the night at the plate with two runs scored.
Jatczak then came on to pitch throwing two shutout innings of relief. He struck out three of the seven batters he faced, earning his first save of the season.
The Muskegon (12-14) offense was held to just two hits on the night. The Clippers kept it close throughout scoring a pair of runs in the sixth inning tying the score 3-3. Stoney Smith (Chattanooga State CC) tied it up with a sacrifice fly driving in Fermin Osio (UNC Asheville).
The two teams play the middle game of its three-game series on Wednesday at Siena Heights University.
SANDUSKY BAY ICE HAULERS 10 ROYAL OAK LEPRECHAUNS 1
SPORTS FORCE PARK FIELD #3 - The Sandusky Bay Ice Haulers returned home after an 11-game road trip winning in convincing fashion 10-1 against the Royal Oak Leprechauns.
The Ice Haulers (14-11) exploded for four home runs including two from right fielder Garret Pike (Toledo). PIke reached base in all four plate appearances going 3-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs to go along with the two long balls.
Jace Rinehart (USC Upstate) chipping in with a solo home run and Josh Kross (Toledo transfer) provided a three-run bomb in the seventh inning.
Francisco Olivarez (Tiffin University) got the start for the Ice Haulers going six innings for the victory. Olivarez racked up five strikeouts while walking just one batter.
Orlando Loyd (Tennessee) and Bobby Perebzak (San Diego CC) delivered in the back end of the Sandusky Bay bullpen combining for three shutout innings.
The Leprechauns (9-16) offense came up with nine hits but could not take advantage of opportunities stranding 11 runners on base.
JET BOX BASEBALL CLUB 5 LIMA LOCOS 4
MILFORD HIGH SCHOOL - The Jet Box Baseball Club scored four ninth inning runs in a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the Lima Locos.
Jack Anderson (Case Western Reserve) came to the plate with the bases loaded smacking a bases clearing double. Zac Jones (Ball State) raced around the bases scoring all the way from first base for the walk off victory.
Anderson, who started the game as the Jet Box designated hitter, pitched the final three innings helping himself to his first win on the mound of the year.
Ryan Lux (Eastern Michigan) hit solo home run in the first inning giving Jet Box an early 1-0 lead.
The Locos (12-14) took the lead in the second inning scoring two unearned runs taking advantage of two Jet Box errors.
Lima cushioned the lead scoring a run in the sixth inning on another Jet Box error. The Locos added an insurance run in ninth innings when Jayden Davis (Samford University commit) drove in Clay Jacobs (Ball State commit) with a sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the ninth and Lima leading 4-1 it all fell apart for the Locos. Four consecutive walks forcing in a run shaving the score to 4-2. This set up the scenario for Anderson to be the hero at the plate with his game winning hit.
Jet Box (14-11) maintains the pace remaining tied with Sandusky Bay just one game behind the first place Michigan Monarchs in the North Division standings.

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate, founded in 1987, is a wood-bat league that is certified by the NCAA and is partially funded by Major League Baseball. The league currently consists of 13 active franchises in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana boasting several players that have earned service time in major league baseball.
