ICHC to promote suicide awareness during the Cross Roads Cup

The ICHC is excited to release the Official Game Puck for the 2020 Tournament.

On one side of the puck is the ICHC logo, encircled with the wording "Official Game Puck" on the top and "Indiana Collegiate Hockey League" on the bottom.

On the flip side is a purple and teal Suicide Prevention Awareness Ribbon.

The impetus for this effort came after the recent loss of Reese Miller, a former Ball State player.  Reese is the stepson of Jack Manard, IU head coach and the son of Katie Miller, former commissioner of the ICHC. "Every team in the league felt compelled to do something, no matter how small, to extend our support to Katie, Jack and Reese's brother, Riley. Some how, some way, we need to keep trying to reach people" said Tim Driscoll, commissioner of the ICHC.

The Tri State Collegiate Hockey League (ACHA D2) has joined in to support this initiative and will have a similar puck for their playoffs.

The Suicide Prevention Awareness Ribbon serves two purposes:

1. Honor Reese Miller.
2. Promote an open dialogue about suicide prevention and warning signs of suicide.

"Place your hand over your heart.  Feel that?  That's called purpose.  You're alive for a reason.  Don't give up."

Your story isn't over yet.
Reach out. Speak up.
