Legends Baseball Instruction - LBI 10U Summer 2016 win Championship
Legends Baseball Instruction - LBI 10U summer team won the 2016 10U Suburban Summer League championship game over top seeded Eport in a well-pitched game. Both teams mounted first inning rallies but left runners at second and third base but both pitchers fought out of the inning with a strikeout. In the 2nd, Legends was able to break through with two runs on heads-up base running by Viren S and Nicholas M. Each scored from third on errant throws. Joe L calmed down in the 2nd and 3rd retiring six in a row. This allowed the Legends team time to score three runs in the frame on a walk to Eric M, hits by Angel M and John R followed by RBI ground outs by Joe L and Viren S. The five run cushion was more than enough for Joe L. He finished the game allowing only 2 hits with 9 K's and made multiple plays on grounders back to the mound. Maybe the most important was nailing a runner trying to score on an errant throw to get out of a 2-out jam in the fourth. After allowing the first two runners to reach in the sixth, Joe L struck out three in a row to seal the Championship title for the Legends. It was a great night for players, family & firends and coaches.
