Owens helps the Marthas Vineyard Sharks down the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs 3-2
Jack Owens went 2-2, sparking the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (17-20) to a 3-2 victory in seven innings over the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (14-23) on Sunday at Doyle Field.
He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.
PJ Browne handled the Marthas Vineyard Sharks' lineup with ease, racking up three strikeouts. Browne allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks over five innings.
Jack Nelson improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He allowed two runs over six innings. Nelson struck out five, walked three and gave up six hits.
Joe Thomas ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
