Wenatchee outlast the Blazers in overtime

Bellingham Blazers opened up the Cascade Cup Championship with a 3-2 overtime loss to the Wenatchee Wolves in Wenatchee on Friday.

The Wolves scored the game winner early in the ninth minute of overtime to take a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

Blazers head coach, Mark Collins, said after the loss, “We mad to many mistakes tonight and in the end that is what cost us the overtime goal.”

The series continues on Saturday with game two in Wenatchee, the puck drops at 2:35pm. The series shifts to Bellingham for game three on April 1st at the Bellingham Sportsplex.
