Bellingham Blazers return home needing a win in NPHL Cascade Cup
The Bellingham Blazers find themselves in danger of being swept in the Northern Pacific Hockey League Cascade Cup Championships, as they return home for Game 3 of the best-of-five series trailing the Wenatchee Wolves 2-0.
The Blazers dropped Game 2 on Saturday, March 26. Austin Sabin scored a power-play goal off an assist from Karson DeRego, but the Wolves won 2-1.
That came a night after Wenatchee grabbed a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 1. Simeon Smith and Justin Sullivan each gave Bellingham a one-goal lead, only to see the Wolves tie it up and get the game-winner in the extra period.
Game 3 is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the Sportsplex, as Bellingham hopes to turn around the 84-40 margin it was out shot in the first two games in Wenatchee.
