Team OMHA White rolls over Team HNO, 9-3

Team OMHA White had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 9-3 win over Team HNO.

Team OMHA White got the win with help from a great game by Matthew McNamara, who had two goals and one assist. McNamara scored the first of his two goals at 3:07 into the second period to make the score 4-1 Team OMHA White. Daylon Groulx assisted on the tally. McNamara's next tally made the score 9-3 Team OMHA White with 4:26 left in the third period. Nathan Dunkley picked up the assist.

Team OMHA White's penalty kill excelled, as Team OMHA White gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Team OMHA White forced Team HNO's goalies to work between the pipes, firing 43 shots and forcing 34 saves. Scott Adams made 31 stops and Jordan Kooy made three. Team OMHA White stifled Team HNO's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Team OMHA White bested its season scoring average. Team OMHA White averages 5.0 goals per game. Team OMHA White's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals. Team OMHA White could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Team OMHA White additionally got points from Dennis Busby, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Groulx, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Aidan Dudas, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Dawson Baker, who also registered one goal and two assists. Team HNO was led by Jacob Anttonen, who had one goal. Anttonen scored 11:46 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Others who scored for Team HNO included Kyle Swerhun and Samuel Stevens, who scored one goal each. More assists for Team HNO came via Liam Wrigley, Jayden Mrakic, and Austin Hall, who each chipped in one.

Lucas Pfeil made 23 saves for Team OMHA White on 26 shots. Team HNO incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
