The Nevada Big Horns get on top of the South Bay Storm early but can't hang on in 6-2 loss

The Nevada Big Horns (4-9) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 6-2 to the South Bay Storm (9-3) on Friday.

While the Nevada Big Horns led until the sixth inning, the South Bay Storm worked their way back and took the lead on a three-run single by Jon Nelson.

Vinny Margiotta paced the South Bay Storm at the plate. Margiotta went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

Josh Cohen's eight strikeouts helped the South Bay Storm to the victory. Cohen allowed two earned runs on seven hits and three walks over eight innings.

Zachary Muenster had a hot bat for the Nevada Big Horns. Muenster went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Justin Contreras (0-2) took the loss for the Nevada Big Horns. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
