IN WALK-OFF STYLE
The Souris Valley Sabre Dogs rallied from trailing 3-0 in the third inning to earn a 4-3 walk-off win over the league-leading Badlands Big Sticks.
The Sabre Dogs began mounting a comeback in the bottom of the third with a solo home run by Justin Glover. Souris Valley tied the game an inning later on a home run by Mason Dinesen and a sacrifice fly by Bragg Eastin.
In the bottom of the ninth, Glover came to the plate with a runner on second and two outs. He delivered with a base hit to right field that scored Stephen Skeggs for the winning run.
Josh Alley pitched six innings for Souris Valley, striking out nine batters. Marcelo Terrazas took over for the final three innings and earned the win in relief.
The rubber match between the Sabre Dogs and Big Sticks will be Friday night in Dickinson, N.D. Souris Valley returns to Corbett Field for a two-game series against the Spearfish Sasquatch starting Saturday.
