Early lead not enough for the Lake Norman Copperheads, drop 4-2 decision to the SBA Bones
The Lake Norman Copperheads (15-27) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-2 to the SBA Bones (32-13) on Tuesday.
While the Lake Norman Copperheads led until the sixth inning, the SBA Bones worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run home run by Wesley Carson.
Carson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the SBA Bones. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth innings.
The SBA Bones got the win thanks in large part to Grant Byers's dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Byers allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks over six innings.
Michael Mock was effective even in defeat, mowing down nine the SBA Bones batters and allowing three runs.
Mock (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher.
