Sasquatch Sweep Whiskey Jacks, 13-5
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Spearfish Sasquatch swept the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 13-5 Wednesday. The Whiskey Jacks have lost four straight games.
Sasquatch center fielder Ben Parker went 4-for-6 with a double and a trio of singles. Parker had a pair of RBIs in the first and second innings and improved his batting average to .408 on the season. Right fielder Charles McAdoo went 3-for-5 with three RBIs. McAdoo was a homerun away from the cycle – singling in the second, tripling in the sixth, and doubling in the eight inning. The right fielder improved his average to .521, the best on the Sasquatch. Third baseman Johnny McHenry went 3-for-6, doubling in the first inning and collected a pair of singles in the fourth and eighth innings.
Second baseman Cade Stuff went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a pair of RBIs. Stuff also crossed the plate twice for the Sasquatch. Left fielder Joe Cacciatore went 2-for-5. Cacciatore singled in the fifth and ninth innings, bringing home first baseman Matt Crossley. Designated hitter Seth Surrett, catcher Hayden Driggs, and Crossley all recorded a hit. Surrett scored two RBIs and Crossley crossed the plate three times.
Sasquatch pitcher Riley Moran (1-0, 6.00 ERA) recorded the win. Moran went four innings on seven hits, four runs (three earned), walking a pair of batters and striking out three. Cam Bagshaw (0-0, 2.35 ERA) went two innings on one run (earned) with three strikeouts. Reilly Kirkpatrick (0-0, 11.25 ERA) pitched three shutout innings on two hits, striking out one batter.
Whiskey Jacks pitcher Will Hlady (0-1, 10.29 ERA) collected the loss. Hlady pitched two innings on seven hits, six runs (all earned) and walked one batter. Hlady didn’t record a strikeout. Blake Kaplan (1-1, 7.71 ERA) pitched three innings on four hits, giving up two runs (all earned). Brandon Nicks (0-0, 9.00 ERA) pitched three innings on four hits, one run (earned), walking one batter.
Right fielder Nolan Lingley went 3-for-5 with a double and a pair of singles. Lingley crossed the plate once in the third inning. First baseman Jaxon Sorenson continued his hot streak at the plate with another extra-base hit, doubling in the second inning. Sorenson finished the game 2-for-4. Shortstop Dean Bittner, third baseman Dylan McKee, catcher Rhett Stein, and second baseman Garrett Olson all recorded a hit.
The Whiskey Jacks (6-7) are off for three days and will return to Kraft Field for a one-game series versus the Badlands Big Sticks (4-9) Sunday.
