Whiskey Jacks Defeat Sasquatch 8-0
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Wheat City Whiskey Jacks defeated the Spearfish Sasquatch 8-0 Friday, extending their winning streak to three games. The Whiskey Jacks pitching staff, led by starting pitcher Matthew Dalquist (4-1, 3.76 ERA), Blake Kaplan (1-1, 7.78 ERA), and Jake Hjelle (0-0, 0.00 ERA) only allowed two hits. Dalquist pitched six innings with seven strikeouts and Kaplan went 2.2 innings. Sasquatch pitcher Ty Vollmar (1-1, 4.50 ERA) was assigned the loss, giving up four runs (all earned), four hits on four innings of work. Sebastian Munoz (1-0, 5.68 ERA) gave up four runs (three earned) on four innings of play.
Whiskey Jacks designated hitter Jackson Harbin went 3-for-4 with two RBI in his first offensive appearance of the season. Center fielder Houston Fogelstrom doubled twice in Friday’s game, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBI. Second baseman Parker Stroh went 2-for-4.
The Whiskey Jacks play their final game of the season Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Kraft Field.
