Whiskey Jacks Lose 9-2, Sasquatch Clinch Playoff Berth
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Wheat City Whiskey Jacks lost their final game of the season 9-2 Saturday, allowing the Spearfish Sasquatch to clinch a playoff berth in the 2021 Expedition League playoffs. Sasquatch left fielder Gage Ninness doubled twice in his 3-for-5 performance Saturday. First baseman/pitcher Charles McAdoo and right fielder Michael Doerr also doubled. Whiskey Jacks center fielder Houston Fogelstrom drove in his 33rd RBI of the season Saturday, finishing 1-for-4.
Whiskey Jacks pitcher Gene Aberouette (4-4, 6.54 ERA) collected the loss, giving up nine runs (all earned) on four innings of work. Griffin Shearon, Dylan Kuester, and Jackson Harbin all pitched in relief. Sasquatch pitcher Hayden Sylte (4-3, 7.25 ERA) collected the win, pitching 3.1 shutout innings, walking two batters. Jack VanDoran, Zachary Kriethe, and Charles McAdoo all pitched in relief.
