
Jeff Pyle has been hired to be the first Evansville coach for their inaugural SPHL season. Jeff ranks third in all time wins in the ECHL (477 wins in Mobile, Gwinnett and Evansville). He also has the best record for Evansville in their four year history in the ECHL (31-30-11). He coached in the AHL as well as in Europe.
A Bloomington, Minnesota native, he played his collegiate hockey at Northern Michigan University. Pyle played 15 years of professional hockey including seven years in the IHL. His best season as a player was in 1986 - 1987 in which he scored 49 goals and 87 assists for the Saginaw Generals. His play that season garnered him the James Gatschene Trophy (the player voted most valuable through his display of outstanding playing ability and sportsmanlike conduct) and the Leo Lamoureux Trophy (Regular season points leader).
Wife, Cathy, married for 32 years; son, Ryan, 22 years old attending Sacramento State College; daughter, Lauren, 16 years old attending Rodriguez High School; and an 8-year-old Shiba Inu, Ginger.
