Coaching Application
USA Hockey Registration
All coaches must register with USA Hockey prior to beginning on-ice activies after September 1 of the current year. Registration is required annually and is valid from September 1 through August 31.
Register with USA Hockey.
Background Screening Instructions
Jr. Blue Hens Coaches are required to have 2 background screenings prior to the start of the season.
One through the AAHA and one through UD.
UD Screening:
You are only required to complete the UD screening if you have not done so previously. Only new JBH Coaches, Managers, Locker room monitors and Board Members are required to have this done.
Please Contact Jim Kaden kaden@udel.edu to set up a time to be screened. It takes about 10 minutes but needs to be done onsite at the Rust Arena.
Deadline: 10/1
UD will update us when you have been cleared.
AAHA Screening:
**We are waiting for updated instructions for the 2017-2018 season. At this time, only NEW coaches, assistant coaches, team managers and locker room monitors should complete the AAHA screening.**
2017-2018 Season Instructions
You will be notified by email in early Sept if you are required to perform this screening. If you are, deadline is 10/1. After 10/31 AAHA will remove you from the roster if you have not completed the screening.
JBH will reimburse you for this. Please email your receipt to the JBH Treasurer at treasurer@jrbluehens.org.

USA Hockey SafeSport Training
All coaches, team managers, and locker room monitors must complete any required USA Hockey SafeSport Training. This training must be completed prior to the start of the season/ASAP. Certification is good for two years. Please direct any questions regarding SafeSport to Jean Brady at jbrady@jrbluehens.org.
USA Hockey Online Age-Specific Modules
All coaches must complete the appropriate online age-specific module(s) by December 31 of the current year.

USA Hockey Coaching Clinics
