Dear Waves Fans and Family,
The operation and management of the Ocean State Waves requires a lot of time, money and people to effectively and successfully work. After taking over as President and General Manager of the organization my mission is to keep growing our brand and our organization and remain a part of our community on and off the field.
The Waves organization has improved in many facets of our operation but we have not built a necessary foundation of supporters and donors like many other NECBL Franchises. Growing in this area will help to ensure financial stability and organizational growth annually that corresponds to our objectives, goals and mission statement. The goal of the Ocean State Waves is to provide young college players with an opportunity to play summer ball enhancing their skills while providing them with an environment that fosters a sense of community. A few things you may not know about the Ocean State Waves:
-The Waves are a 501 (C) 3 Non-profit.
-We recruit the top collegiate baseball players in the country to try and achieve their goals in playing professional baseball.
-Over 40% of every year’s roster have signed a professional contract
-We had our first Waves’ alumni crack the big leagues during the 2018 season (Mike Gerber OF Detroit Tigers).- 2014 Ocean State Wave!
-The Waves have an extensive school reading program and camp scholarship program.
-Waves have made over $90,000 in capital improvements at Old Mountain Field.
-Annual travel expenses are $30-32,000.
-In 2018 Gear, Umpires, Equipment and Coaches Costed the organization over $40,000.
In order to grow our base of donors and supporters, we have created a charitable contribution donor program. Please consider supporting our organization and becoming part of the Waves team!
Our organization would like to use your donations and contributions to support travel expenses, new uniforms, youth camp scholarship program and improving our facility Old Mountain Field for the community and our dedicated spectators. Eventually, we would like to have a scholarship program for high school seniors in South County pursuing a college education while playing a sport.
