Clayton has joined Pro Goal Development in the spring of 2014 focusing on the Fraser Valley region of the Vancouver Lower Mainland.
Currently Clayton is the Head Goaltending Instructor at MEI Academy in Abbotsford BC. Pool also is the goaltending coach for Trinity Western University located in Langley BC which plays in the BCIHL.
During the 2011-12, Pool was the Goaltending Coach for the Nanaimo Clippers in the BCHL where goaltender Billy Faust received a NCAA Scholarship to the University of Vermont.
Prior to coaching, Pool played 5 seasons of professional hockey in the United States in the UHL/IHL with the Muskegeon Fury/Lumberjacks. In 2002 he attended the Edmonton Oilers NHL training camp.
Pool played 3 seasons in the WHL with the Kamloops Blazers and the Kootenay Ice. After his junior career, Pool attended the University of Alberta where he was named CIS Rookie of the Year, 3 time All-Canadian, holds the all-time Canada West shutout record and played for Team Canada at the 2003 World University Games in Italy.
Pool is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a bachelor of Physical Education Degree (BPE) majoring in Sports Performance. He is also a certified CrossFit trainer.
During his playing career Pool has won 3 championships.
