THUNDERBOLTS GIVE $15,000 BACK TO LOCAL CHARITIES IN ITS FIRST YEAR
The Evansville Thunderbolts professional hockey team gave back to the community during its inaugural season by donating $15,000 across 55 charities. The organization’s charitable donations came about from special promotions, fundraising, toy and food collections.
“It’s so important to be involved with the community and any time we can give something back we are both grateful and proud,” said Head Coach Jeff Pyle. “There are so many great causes and hope we can be a part of all of them.”
“I really enjoyed working closely with all of the great charities in our community this season,” said Assistant General Manager Blake Bruner. “There are two reasons why I do my job — to make hockey fans happy and casual fans entertained, and to give back to this city and support all of the good causes. We have a unique platform that gives us a chance to impact others. Our goal is to strengthen the economy and build on our positive relationships. The only way hockey will work here is if we all work together.”
The Thunderbolts professional hockey team looks forward to helping out even more charities during next season.
