St. Michaels falls to Mississauga in overtime, 4-3 (OT)
The Mississauga Chargers' Marco Mattina scored 4:38 into overtime to beat the St. Michaels Buzzers, 4-3 (OT).
St. Michaels' power play was ineffective against Mississauga's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.
The Chargers were led by Mattina, who finished with one goal.
Mississauga's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six St. Michaels power plays. The Chargers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.
Mississauga also had goals scored by Nicholas Palumbo, Phillip Chadder, and Thomas Lattavo, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Mississauga were Domenic Commisso, who had three and Stefano Alonzi, Scott Docherty, Steve Mariani, Joseph Molinaro, and Troy Taylor, who contributed one each.
The Buzzers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.
St. Michaels was helped by Bron Loiselle, who registered one goal. Loiselle scored 13:47 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Matt Pepler picked up the assist. St. Michaels also got points from Joseph Berton, who also tallied one goal and one assist. St. Michaels also got a goal from Thomas Beretta as well. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Noah Jordan, who had two and Marco Ferraro and Scott Teskey, who each chipped in one.
Mississauga incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Buzzers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
