RECAP: UPPER VALLEY 8, MYSTIC 0
HARTFORD, VT – The Mystic Schooners finished their short road trip with an 8-0 loss at the hands of the Upper Valley Night Hawks at Maxfield Sports Complex Sunday night.
Mystic was only able to get five hits on the night. Brett Rodriguez finished 2-4 at the plate with two singles and a stolen base.
Zach Thompson got the starting nod on the mound and did not give up an earned run over five innings in which he allowed just two hits and struck out four batters.
Upper Valley plated one run in the third and sixth to take a 2-0 lead heading into the eighth.
Five more runs came around for Upper Valley in the eighth on an RBI single, a two-RBI double and a two-RBI single to secure the 8-0 victory.
Mystic is back home at the Shipyard on Monday where they will take on the Ocean State Waves at 6:05pm. The Schooners will welcome the DBI Junior Schooners.
