KLEYMAN PICKS WESTERN NEW ENGLAND
EAST MEADOW, New York – The New York Bobcats are proud to announce that forward David Kleyman has committed to play and attend school and Western New England University beginning in the fall of 2015.
Kleyman, 19, is enjoying a solid first season with the New York Bobcats, where he has 18 goals and 14 assists for 32 points in 29 games played.
His 18 markers lead the club, while his 32 points is fifth most on the team.
“I really like what [WNE] brought to the table both academically and athletically. The coaching staff here is really invested in developing a true student-athlete, as well as winning hockey games,” said Kleyman. “The engineering program here is top notch so it definitely feels like a perfect fit.”
During the season, the Brooklyn, N.Y native put together a five-game point streak where he tallied three goals and four assists, and has also registered two game winning goals on the year for the green and black.
“The Bobcats helped me work on my weaknesses and developed me into a complete hockey player. I'm extremely grateful to them for putting me in good situations to pick the right place for me to go to school,” added Kleyman.
Western New England University is located in Springfield, Mass. and currently competed at the NCAA-III level in the ECAC Northeast.
“The New York Bobcats are extremely proud of David and the Kleyman family. David has been a great addition to our lineup since we acquired him earlier in the season. He is a strong offensive player who will be an asset to Coach Heffernan and the Golden Bears of Western New England University,” said Craig Doremus, head coach and general manager of the Bobcats. “We are extremely happy to have David as part of our team and look for him to help lead us as we head into the Eastern Hockey League playoffs.”
The New York Bobcats wish David and his family all the best on this wonder accomplishment.
