Johnson Commits to Morrisville
EAST MEADOW, New York – The New York Bobcats are proud to announce that forward Brett Johnson has committed to play and attend school at Morrisville State College beginning in the fall of 2015.
Johnson, ’94, joined the Bobcats later on in the season and put up 14 points (5g, 9a) in 25 games played.
He tallied three goals from the Bobcats during the club’s playoff run.
“The Bobcats are truly a first-class organization. Coming to the rink everyday was a blessing, you get treated like a professional everyday and the amenities were top of the line,” said Johnson.
During the season, the Middleton, NJ native put together five multi-game point streaks and also registered one game-winning goal on the year for the green and black.
“I would like to thank my family for the sacrifices they have made over the years, along with the New York Bobcats staff and ownership group for welcoming me to Long Island with open arms for the conclusion of this season,” added Johnson.
Morrisville State College is located in Morrisville, N.Y. and currently competes at the NCAA-III level in the SUNYAC.
“We are extremely excited and proud of Brett as he worked very hard this season to achieve his dream of playing college hockey. Brett was an absolute pleasure to work with every day. Since the day we acquired him he came in ready to work, learn and develop,” said Craig Doremus, head coach and general manager.
“Brett brought veteran knowledge and leadership to our dressing room. I think Morrisville is a great spot for Brett to continue his hockey career while pursuing his college degree. I look forward to watching Brett continue to develop as a hockey player and a young man. We thank Brett and the Johnson family for all their contributions to the New York Bobcats organization.”
The New York Bobcats wish Brett and his family all the best on this wonderful accomplishment.
