Waves fall to Muskrats, 10-1

The Ocean State Waves fell to the Winnipesaukee Muskrats 10-1 last night at Old Mountain Field in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.
This loss marks the first time in the 2017 season that the Waves lost on their home field. Ocean State is now 6-1 at home and 12-4 overall on the season. As Winnipesaukee is an NECBL North team, the Waves are now 2-1 is inter-division matchups.
Dating back to Monday June 26, 2017, the Waves are currently in the middle of a stretch of nine games in eight days. Ocean State is now 2-3 over that stretch with the grind continuing tonight in Winnipesaukee. Tonight's 6:05 p.m. first pitch will begin game two of a home-and-home series for the Muskrats and Waves. This is the second and final meeting between both teams.
The Waves lone run came in the bottom of the third when Kyle Conger (Belmont) scored of an RBI infield single from Mike Alescio (Seton Hall). At the time that run would cut the deficit to just 2-1. Between the fourth and seventh innings the Muskrats would add seven runs to their total. The final was 10-1, Muskrats.
The bright spot to the Waves pitching performance was Chris Wright (Bryant). Wright, a two-way left hander, tossed two innings in the eighth and ninth. He would retire all six batters he faced and struck out four Muskrats.
Ocean State now heads on the road to Winnipesaukee and will return home on Saturday to welcome the Sanford Mainers to Old Mountain Field.
