Returning Waves Dominate in Week Three
As March signals the arrival of spring, college baseball schedules are starting to pick up and this week we’re recognizing two players for their standout performances. Our Players of the Week are sophomore Tommy Meluskey and junior pitcher Bryce McKnight.
After an impressive performance at the plate this weekend, our Hitter of the Week is sophomore Tommy Meluskey from New Mexico State University. Meluskey had a .571 batting average across the Aggie’s four games this past week. The out-fielder had a .800 on-base percentage making him a standout hitter. He scored three runs across the three-game weekend series against Prairie View and one against Southwest.
On the mound, earning Pitcher of the Week is junior Bryce McKnight from San Diego State University. The right-handed pitcher impressed in two appearances this weekend in San Diego’s four-game series against the Washington Huskies. McKnight pitched three innings, allowing just one hit and one run. He also recorded a save.
These players are already making an impact in their college seasons and we are so proud of their accomplishments! Their strong start is only a sign of the talent they’ll showcase at Old Mountain Field this summer.
