Saul, Johnson Continue to Shine Through Week 10
The month of April has been flying by which means that we are getting closer and closer to the start of our season in the Ocean State! This week we are highlighting sophomore Charlie Saul as our hitter of the week and freshman Carson Johnson as our pitcher of the week.
Charlie Saul from Bryant University recorded six runs in the Bulldogs’ games last week, including a season-high four RBIs in one of their games against Binghamton University on Saturday. During that doubleheader, Saul earned himself two home runs and two stolen bases. In their game against the University of Rhode Island last Tuesday, Saul recorded a season-high four bases stolen. Across his games last week, Saul recorded a .385 batting average.
Carson Johnson from San Diego State University pitched a strong five innings for the Aztecs in their 9-1 win over UC San Diego. Just two weeks ago, Johnson made history with his team during their 10th no-hitter in program history and it was also his first win in an Aztec uniform. On the mound against UC San Diego, Johnson allowed just two hits, zero earned runs and zero walks. He recorded an impressive five strikeouts to contribute to their win.
