Macomb Amateur Baseball Federation

MABF RULES & PRACTICES

INTRODUCTION

The Macomb Amateur Baseball Federation ("MABF") is a nonprofit corporation governed by a Board of Directors ("Board" or "BOD") consisting of the following Offices: President, Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary, Treasurer, and Past President.

Overview: With the many requests that fall within the systematic structure of MABF it is impossible to answer all the quires that can be found on the website or in the MABF Rules, with follow-up emails. Remember to help us, to better help you, by helping yourself first. The website and these MABF Rules are a great asset to all new and experienced managers.

a. MABF is a federation of teams, NOT a league. MABF facilitates scheduling, keeping records, rewarding champions with recognition, obtaining and assisting with the cost of national association playoff berths, assisting teams in finding players, assisting families in finding a team for their child, mediating disputes between teams and otherwise assuring a fair and competitive competition.

b. MABF does NOT place players on teams (this is between parents and team management) , nor is MABF involved with team finances, nor does MABF endorse the qualification of any coach or the suitability of a person to coach a child. As such, MABF does not conduct a background check on any person coaching a team registered in MABF.

c. In light of the past events at the NCAA level, MABF urges its multiple team organizations and teams to conduct a background check of all of its coaches and team personnel to protect the children in its charge. Parents are encouraged to likewise check and satisfy themselves with the integrity and fitness of their child's coaching staff.
