Tournament of Champions

TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Dear Northwestern Ontario Hockey Community,

We are looking for volunteers to assist us in various duties throughout the 2023 Tournament of Champions.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Thunder Bay, Ontario on the weekend of March 16th – 19th, 2023, consisting of teams and spectators from towns across Northwestern Ontario. The tournament venues consist of Delaney Arena, The Fort William Gardens and Fort William First Nations Arena. To help ensure that the tournament runs smoothly, we are seeking the assistance of volunteers in the following areas:

• Selling 50/50 tickets (must be 18+ years of age)
• Selling merchandise
• Assisting time-keepers
• Handling game sheets
• Assigning dressing rooms
• Tracking game results
• Notifying teams of early or late starts
• Providing tournament information

Preferred attributes consist of:

• Moderate knowledge of sport, particularly hockey
• Comfortable handling cash
• Respectful demeanor
• Adequate problem solving and communicational skills

Volunteering at the tournament is an excellent addition to your volunteer portfolio, an opportunity to get involved in local sports and be a part of a fantastic event in our community.
