JBH Announces New Hockey Director

During the Annual JBH Board Meeting on Wednesday, March 20th, Liam Lansang was introduced to the club as the Hockey Director for the 2019-20 season. Lansang brings a wealth of hockey experience to the organization both as a player and as a coach and in his new position he will be responsible for implementing the overall strategic plan the Board laid out earlier this year.

In a statement to families, Lansang said that his focus for the 2019-20 season is to strengthen the concept of a hockey culture within the JBH organization and to instill a sense of pride, respect, and fun among its members. "The Jr. Blue Hen organization is proud of the relationship we have with the University of Delaware and we are aiming to grow this relationship even more this season. We want our families to feel like they are not just part of a Jr. Blue Hen hockey team, but part of the Blue Hen Hockey Spirit," Lansang continued. "With the UDel club teams sharing the same facility, our players have access to interact and learn from high level college athletes and we hope to leverage that opportunity for our player development plan even more this season.

Lansang also wants to focus on helping more girls play hockey. "With the prevalence of the UDel Women's club team, we are also working to increase the participation of young girls in hockey and provide great role models for the young women in our organization."

Evaluations for the 2019-20 season will begin on 3/25. The Jr. Blue Hens are expecting to have several levels of teams across multiple age groups for the upcoming year.

Looking ahead to the new season, Lansang is excited for what is to come. "The Jr. Blue Hens had a great season last year and we look forward to another season of providing a fun and unique youth hockey experience to our members."

Code of Conduct Reminder

We understand that hockey is a very exciting and physical sport that people have a tremendous passion for. However, it is our expectation that each player, coach, and spectator adhere to our Code of Conduct.

At the beginning of the season, each family and player signed the Code of Conduct agreeing to its expectations. Please take some time to review the document again.

Any incident that violates this agreement, that has been brought to the Board's attention, has been addressed and we are committed to continuing to do so. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Board by emailing board@jrbluehens.org or by completing our anonymous feedback form.

Thank you for your commitment to helping us make hockey safe and fun for our kids.
