Ex-NECBLer Bennett Named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week
Junior OF Jo-El Bennett of Troy was named as a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week on February 17th.
Collegiate Baseball Newspaper wrote, “Bennett blasted three home runs in the final game against Northern Kentucky and nearly hit a fourth as a long fly ball was caught on the warning track. During the 4-game series, he was 3-for-5 with 3 homers, 6 RBI, 12 total bases, 5 runs scores and a 2.400 slugging percentage.”
It is the fourth straight year that a Troy Trojan has won the National Player of the Week honor. Three of them- Logan Pierce (2011), Danny Collins (2013) and Bennett all played in the NECBL.
