21 NECBL alumni were selected by Major League Baseball in the first two days of the 2014 Draft.

The Draft was highlighted with the selection of catcher Max Pentecost and outfielder Mike Papi.  The two become the NECBL’s 20th and 21st first round draft picks.  They also mark the seventh straight season in which an NECBL graduate was a first round selection.

At least one alumnus from the New England League was selected in every round of the first ten rounds.  In a testimony to the NECBL’s balance, the 21 players hailed from nine organizations.
