NECBL Alumni Update – July 16, 2014

NECBL Alumni participating in Triple-A All-Star Game; Two others earn weekly awards!

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – A number of New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) alumni have made splashes at the Minor League Baseball (MiLB) level this past week, with two earning spots in tonight’s Triple-A All-Star Game and two others earning weekly honors at their respective leagues.

Triple-A All-Star Game
Bobby Korecky (Torrington 1999) will play in tonight’s Triple-A All Star Game representing Buffalo (Toronto) for the International League. Ben Paulsen (Keene 2009) will represent Colorado Springs for the Pacific Coast League in the same contest.

The Triple-A All-Star Game will be held in Durham, N.C., and can be seen on both MLB Network andMiLB.TV. The Eastern League All-Star Clash will be played in Altoona, Pa., and broadcast on MiLB.TV. Both games will begin at 7 p.m. ET.ine

International League (Triple-A)
Adam Wilk (Newport 2007) was named the International League Pitcher of the Week for the week spanning June 30-July 6th

On the year, the southpaw owns a 7-8 record and 4.33 ERA in 19 appearances (18 starts) while striking out 81 and allowing just 28 walks.

California League (Class-A Advanced)
Conrad Gregor (Newport 2011) was named the California League Player of the Week for the week spanning July 7-13.

On the year, the left-handed-hitting first baseman has appeared in 44 games and is batting a shade less than .300 on the year, hitting at a .298 (48-for-161) clip with 13 doubles, a triple, one home run and 28 RBI. He owns an OPS of .817 thanks to an impressive .298/.407/.410 slash line.--
