Seven NECBL Grads Make EL, PCL All-Stars
Three NECBL alumni were selected for the July 15th Pacific Coast League All-Star Game in Omaha, NE. That same night, the Eastern League All-Stars will suit up at Portland’s Hadlock Field. Four NECBL graduates will be playing.
22 NECBL graduates have been honored as Minor League All-Stars to date. All levels- Class A, High-A, Double-A and Triple-A- have had at least two NECBL alumni make a League’s All-Star team.
In addition, Corpus Christi RHP Mark Appel (Newport 2010) was selected to play for Team USA in the Futures Game to be held on All-Star Weekend in Cincinnati.
Here are the seven honorees:
Pacific Coast League
- Matt McBride/OF Albuquerque (Colorado- 2004 Holyoke). McBride was hitting .347 and slugging .590 with an astounding 26 doubles in 63 games.
- Adam Conley/LHP/New Orleans (Miami- 2009 Keene). In 14 starts, Conley was 7-2 with a 2.52 ERA. He made his Major League debut earlier this season.
- Adam Duvall/INF/Sacramento (Oakland- 2009 Sanford). Duvall was hitting .255 with 17 doubles and 16 homers in 74 games. He had a .490 slugging percentage.
Eastern League
- Tom Murphy/C/New Britain (Colorado-2011 Holyoke)(Pictured)- Recently named to Team USA to play in the Pan-Am Games, Murphy was hitting .249 with 16 doubles and 11 homers in 69 games.
- Eric Jagielo/3B/ Trenton (NY Yankees- 2011 North Shore). Jagielo had a .284/.347/.495 slash line with nine homers and 16 doubles in 58 games.
- Terry Doyle/RHP/Bowie (Baltimore- 2005 Pittsfield). Doyle was 7-1 with a 2.37 ERA in 68 innings. He struck out 59 and walked just six.
- Dan Gamache/3B/Altoona (Pittsburgh-2010 Newport). Gamache was hitting .308 and slugging .468 in 50 games with the Curve.
