NEW BEDFORD, MA (July __, 2015) – The New Bedford Bay Sox are continuing with the annual Bay Sox Wiffle Ball Classic on July 11th at Paul Walsh field in New Bedford beginning at 9 am. The Wiffle Ball tournament benefits the fight against type 1 diabetes which affects over 1 million Americans.
The tournament will be a fun day for all, along with the games being played by teams from around the region. There will also be a home run derby, raffles, and food and drinks. Melissa Nailor, the Co-chair of the event, says “We look forward to this event every year. Wiffle ball is fun, but when you add the local community and the fund raising for an important cause that’s what makes this event so special and wonderful.
The fun continues after the tournament as well as the Bay Sox take on the Newport Gulls at 6:30 pm. One lucky fan could win a car from Ashley Ford if The Bay Sox hit a grand slam in the 7th inning. Come to the game and register and that fan could be you!
The 2015 New Bedford Bay Sox season started at beginning of June and will extend into early August with the playoffs.  For more information on how to purchase your season tickets, purchase individual game tickets, to sign up for our Winter Pitchers & Catchers Clinics, or to make a tax-deductible donation to The New Bedford Bay Sox Foundation (a registered 501c-3 organization) call 855-BAYSOX1 or email info@nbbaysox.com.  You can also visit www.nbbaysox.com for more information about the Bay Sox and Like the Bay Sox on Facebook.
