2019 NECBL Home Run Derby Field Announced

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Commissioner Sean McGrath is pleased to unveil the rosters for the 2019 New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) All-Star Game Home Run Derby. The 2019 NECBL All-Star Game will be hosted by the Vermont Mountaineers at Montpelier Recreation Field on Sunday, July 28.
The 2019 NECBL Home Run Derby will offer the opportunity for players throughout the league to perform in front of MLB scouts from all 30 organizations. The event begins at 3:30 p.m. starting with the opening round (three minutes for each contestant) leading to the Home Run Derby championship between the top-two players, each of whom will have four minutes to decide the title.
The Vermont Mountaineers will play host to the 2019 NECBL All-Star Game on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Montpelier Recreation Field in Montpelier, Vermont. This is the third time the Mountaineers have hosted the NECBL All-Star Game (2004 & 2012.) The All-Star Game showcases the NECBL’s top talent in a fun-filled afternoon and evening of the best the league has to offer – with players from all NECBL franchises showcasing their skills in front of scouts from every Major League Baseball (MLB) organization.
Gates open at 2:30 p.m. and the exciting Home Run Derby kicks off the afternoon's festivities starting at 3:30 p.m. The All-Star Game itself will begin with pregame ceremonies at 5:10 p.m. Tickets are a flat general admission price of $6 and can be purchased in advance at 2019 ASG Tickets or at the gate. Don’t forget! The 2019 NECBL Fan Vote is still underway! From Monday, July 22 through Thursday, July 25, fans can vote for one of 13 players nominated by the league for the 2019 NECBL All-Star Game Fan Vote. The players with the most votes from each division will take to the diamond next Sunday as the 30th members of each team.

The New England Collegiate Baseball League is a wooden bat college summer league that fields teams in all six New England states. Partially funded by Major League Baseball, the NECBL started play in 1994 and is enjoying its 25th-year anniversary season this summer. The New England League has sent over 150 alumni to the Major Leagues and has had nearly 100 alumni drafted in each of the last 10 Major League Baseball Drafts.
