SwampBats Beat Blues 9-3 in Eight-Inning Showdown

Bristol, CT – The SwampBats surged to a 9-3 victory over the Blues in a game cut short after eight innings. Ripken Reese's (Kent St) home run sparked a scoring spree in the sixth, followed by key hits to score four runs in the seventh. Josh Kross (Cincinnati) started with a single to center field, followed by Bryce Molinaro's (Penn St) triple to center. Alex Calarco (Maryland College Park) also contributed with a sacrifice fly to add to their offensive burst in that inning. Despite grabbing an early lead with runs in the first and second innings, the Blues were unable to maintain their advantage.
Both teams have a day of rest tomorrow and resume play on Tuesday!
North Adams Steeplecats vs Valley Blue Sox
Holyoke, MA – The Blue Sox dominated offensively in their 6-2 win over the SteepleCats. Logan Hugo's (Eastern Michigan) early double brought Chase Jans (Kansas) home, setting the tone in the first. The fifth inning saw an explosive performance with Hugo's second double, Jonathan Hogart’s (Murray St) single and Michael O'Conor's (Eastern Illinois) home run. More hits from Andrew Estrella (UCF) and Jackson Militello (Eastern Michigan) capped off the inning with five runs. On the mound, Jax Traeger (TCU) secured the win with a solid two-inning performance, allowing only one run and striking out one. Starter John Kwiatkowski (Boston College) pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, walking two, and striking out two. The SteepleCats managed to put two runs on the board with Warren Holzemer's (Virginia Tech) sacrifice fly in the sixth and Luke Mistone's single in the ninth, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Blue Sox's performance.
Tomorrow, the SteepleCats host the Upper Valley Nighthawks, while the Blue Sox enjoy the day off and resume play on Tuesday.
Vermont Mountaineers vs Ocean State Waves
South Kingstown, RI – Today's game between the Mountaineers and the Ocean State Waves has been postponed to Thursday, July 11 at 4:00 PM.
Vermont hosts the Navigators tomorrow night, while the Ocean State Waves welcome the Westerners to Old Mountain Field.

Martha’s Vineyard Sharks vs Mystic Schooners
Oak Bluffs, MA – The Mystic Schooners clinched an 8-5 victory against the Sharks with Christian Scanlon's (Merrimack) home run sparking their offense in the fourth inning. They continued to add runs in the fifth thanks to hits from Scotty Young (Old Dominion), Jack Goodman (Northeastern) and Julian Stevens (Missouri Columbia), who hit a three-run home run. Matthew Brinker's (Northeastern) homer in the sixth further bolstered their lead, while Stevens scored another run in the eighth, securing the Schooners' win. For the Sharks, Ty Waid's (Arkansas) seventh-inning home run highlighted their offensive efforts. Despite adding two more runs in the eighth, the Sharks couldn't overcome the Schooners' lead.
