SwampBats’ Trio of Homers Secures 9-6 Victory over SteepleCats
Upper Valley Nighthawks vs Mystic Schooners
Hartford, VT – Bats were hot tonight as the Schooners defeated the Nighthawks 11-9. Michael Trommer's (Bucknell) solo homer in the second inning gave the Nighthawks an early lead, but the Schooners responded quickly with four runs in the third, highlighted by homers from Davis Johnson (Notre Dame) and Johnny Pilla (Stony Brook), and singles from Scotty Young (Old Dominion) and Julian Stevens (Missouri Columbia). The fifth inning was action-packed. The Schooners kicked it off with doubles from Young and Stevens, and singles from Christian Scanlon (Merrimack) and Jayden Hylton (Stetson). Despite the Nighthawks scoring four runs in the bottom, it wasn't enough to secure the win.

Tomorrow, the Nighthawks head to Bristol to face the Blues while the Schooners rest.
Sanford Mainers vs Vermont Mountaineers
Sanford, ME – The Mountaineers started strong and kept their lead to top the Mainers 6-2 on Wednesday night. A Brennen Norton (Jacksonville State) triple and Casey Bishop (Towson) single brought in four runs in the first frame at Goodall Park.
Sanford stranded six runners on base throughout seven innings, and responded in the eighth inning bringing in a pair of runs. Jackson Tucker (St. Johns) reached home on a sac fly and Evin Sullivan (Binghamton) hit in CJ Willis (Quinnipiac), but the Mainers could not bring any more players across the plate. Vermont solidified its victory during its last ups, scoring off a fielder’s choice and Carlos Martinez (UMass Lowell) single.
Winning pitcher Brandon Adams (North Florida) threw two innings, logging three strikeouts and no runs.

The Mainers rest tomorrow and resume play on Friday while the Mountaineers face the Waves in a doubleheader.
Keene SwampBats vs North Adams SteepleCats
Keene, NH – Despite the SteepleCats scoring four runs in the ninth inning, it wasn’t enough to overcome the SwampBats, who ultimately secured a 9-6 victory. Jake Koonin (Princeton), Bryce Molinaro (Penn St) and Austin Hawke (Wake Forest) all homered tonight for the SwampBats. Despite falling short, Derek Paris (Maryland Baltimore), Samuel Sherman (Merrimack), Hayden Carlson (Indiana) and Jayder Raifstanger (St. John’s) highlighted the Steeplecats' four-run surge with consecutive singles.

Newport Gulls vs Ocean State Waves
Newport, RI – Ocean State pushed ahead of Newport with a four-run seventh inning to conquer the Gulls 8-5. A Logan Hughes (Texas Tech) double, Donovan Cash (Kennesaw State) single and wild pitch drove in runs for the Waves.
Both teams chipped away at the scoreboard throughout the game. Newport started the scoring with a sac fly during its first ups and Ocean State’s Zach Plasschaert (Arizona) responded with an RBI single. In a chaotic third inning, the Waves scored off a balk and the Gulls brought in a run from a wild pitch. Hughes hit an RBI single for Ocean State in the fifth and Newport’s Jack Doyle (Northeastern) hit in Dixon Williams (East Carolina) to keep the game even before Ocean State powered through the seventh frame.
In the final inning, Andrew Duncan (Florida State) was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score a fifth run for Gulls, but Brooks Ey (Bryant) struck out the last batter before any more runs were brought in.
