LIC ICE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

It’s the work off the ice that separates the good players from the great ones. The hours in the gym spent getting stronger, faster and more flexible are essential to improving your game on the ice. At LIC-ICE, we want to help players reach their full potential through our strength and conditioning program.

ASSESSMENT/TESTING PHASE:

Our trainers test for the following during our one-on-one evaluations:

1.  Functional Movement Screen (FMS)

2.  Explosive Power Testing

3.  Grip Strength Testing

4.  Speed Testing

5.  Multi-Directional Speed Testing

6.  Agility Training

7.  Strength Testing

8.  Injury Consultation

INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM PLANS:

Every player is different and has different needs in the gym. We customize unique plans for hockey players of different ages, skill levels and positions.

Our coaches provide a customized plan with a complete schedule breakdown. We give you the knowledge and from there it’s up to you.

While the details are different, we look to work on the following core areas:

INJURY PREVENTION:

Strengthening muscles and joints.

Learning proper warmups and stretching.

SPEED/STRENGTH:

Highlighting the importance of lower-body workouts.

    - Strengthening legs, hips and glutes.

MOBILITY:

Improving range of motion and controlled movements.

    - Helps proper skating technique.

Using Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) method - an innovative stretching technique to improve range of motion.

AGILITY:

Improving players ability to change direction on the ice.

NUTRITION:

Establishing and teaching nutrition plans.

Healthy diet helps energy levels, speed up recovery time and improve reaction time.

OUR COACHES

GEORGE MORAVCIK

Juraj Moravcik has worked as a strength and conditioning coach for NHL, KHL and Slovakian 1st League pro and junior players.

Coach Moravcik has worked with NHL players and alumni including Andrej Sekera (Edmonton Oilers), Marek Hrivik (New York Rangers), Marian Hossa (Chicago Blackhawks) and Miroslav Satan.

Coach Moravcik  spent the past two seasons with HC '05 Banská Bystrica in Slovakia and has worked with the Slovakian U18 National Team for two seasons. He is a certified FRC Mobility Specialist and brings a wealth of experience.
