The Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League is an amateur summer wooden bat baseball league comprised of ten teams in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Region.
Corporate Structure: 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit Organization
Regular-Season Schedule Length: 40 games
Playoff Format: Six-team single elimination for seeds 3-6. The we play two 3 game series to get to the LCS which is a best two out of three to crown a champion.
Roster Limit: 35 players
Age Limit: Under 23 years
The mission of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League is to promote collegiate wooden-bat baseball in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia; to promote amateur and youth baseball and softball in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia; to promote the development of community-based summer collegiate baseball teams throughout Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia; and to foster spirited competition with an emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, honesty, and fair play.
The League shall promote improved facilities and opportunities for amateur and youth baseball and softball.
In addition, the League and individual teams shall promote community-based baseball in their respective communities.
They shall also develop partnerships with local community groups to establish and promote long-term programs of amateur and youth baseball and softball.
