NIHF will represent all leagues of independent hockey in North America. The NIHF is affiliated with AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) for winter hockey and NASHA (North American Spring Hockey Alliance) in the Spring and Summer. The AAU is one of the largest non-profit volunteer sports organizations in the United States CLICK HERE to learn more. NASHA has been sanctioning spring hockey over 6 years.
This affiliation with the AAU allows the NIHF the opportunity to host winter tournaments for teams from all over the country. Teams can continue into the spring or form new teams for Spring/Summer Hockey and participate in tournaments while becoming members of NASHA by purchasing insurance through NASHA in Canada.
The AAU was founded in 1888 as a multi-sport organization dedicated to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs. AAU focuses on providing sports programs for all participants of all age levels beginning at the local and regional levels.
